Solitary to cespitose; stems green; Pistillate individual; flower bud collected 9 April 2007 from individual transplanted to Chino Valley, Arizona; n=22 during meiosis of microgametogenesis; flowers photographed and collected (2) 13 May 2007, two more flowers collected 20 May 2007; antrorse barbs on spines of pericarpel small but distinct; stems collected from garden material 10 February 2008.
