Habitat: Sand and Navajo Sandstone outcroppings. Artemisia tridentata scrub.
Associated Species: Arctostaphylos pungens, Juniperus osteosperma, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Ephedra viridis, Eriogonum alatum, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Petradoria pumila, Pinus edulis, Purshia stansburiana, Quercus turbinella, Swertia utahensis, and Yucca baccata.
Description: At least 100 individuals in the area; fruits on some individuals nearing maturity; flowers (2) collected 8 May 2004 from an individual cultivated at Chino Valley, Arizona; n=22 from meiosis of microgametogenesis.
